Keeping in touch

As many of you will see, I am now on FB! Wow - I so do not have the time for all this new tech but I am trying to stay in touch. We will see how it all pans out. I have linked, posted, updated, poked, im'ed and all the other tech savy words. I have enjoyed all the networking but am sure when I return home to my house full of boys this updating will not continue. I will be back to my routine of bath time, spongebob and all the rest that I love to do. Enjoy some other pics that I am trying to post now - WHILE I CAN!

Valentine's Dance!

What a blast and such a wonderful night to remember! Kyle and I attended a Mother Son Daddy Daughter Dance at my old High School. My brother, my best friend, and many others attended to enjoy a special night with our kids. We danced, laughed and limped after trying to do many old dances. Ha! We loved it.

My Job in Foster Care

As I sat in the courthouse today with a teen foster child, I could not help but thank God that He has allowed me to experience first hand. People have asked me how I can be involved with such a diffucult job, tragic stories...and the truth is that most of the time I get to know them for them and without focusing on their past stories. I am here for them to ensure that they are safe, happy and loved.

I apprecaite all the prayers for the kids in care. My family encourage me daily and keeps me talking about what I see. Life has shown foster children so much of the hurt this world holds, making them hesitant to trust. I am not a Biblical scholar, a Christian apologist, but I am a person who makes a difference in a child's life - that's why I love my job.

As we drove back to the office from court today, I remembered and saw the hope that I was able to enstill in this young teens life. I do not know what her furute holds. However; I do know that she is for now....safe, happy and loved.

Valentine's Day is on the way!

And we're getting ready. For those who don't know me or are new to this blog, I LOVE Valentine's day. Like besides Christmas it is my favorite holiday.

This V-day we are planning to spend with our boys. I was thinking we might have a marshmellow roast with our fire pit on the back deck. I am so excited for this day of love but already fear the 5 day sugar high the boys have;)

Kyle and I are atending a Mother-Son Daddy-Daughter dance. He is excited but getting him to dress up will be the trick. It will be cute I am sure, due to my sis and her friends' planning. They are having this as a fund raiser for Prom. It's come a long way from selling those doughnuts! Great idea! We are looking forward to it and will post the results.

Layla turns Two!

Happy Birthday to Layla (my niece) who turned two. We had a wonderful party at her home and kudos goes to my brother for pulling it off (single)!!! Great job Josh!

Longing for the Beach

As spring creeps around the corner I long for the beach. This pic is of our family at the beach in 2008.

Our Christmas Tree Cake!

Mr. Tubernickel joins the fam!

Welcome Mr. TUBERNICKEL! Ha! What a name, I know. This is Kyle's pick for our Elf on the Shelf who FLEW in this Christmas. He was a blast and got in to so much mischeif. He flew into the tree, rode Rudolph, crashed into Kenneth's "monster buck" and many more incidents. Kyle loved him so and did well with our new friend.

Tis the Season to Party!

Kyle had the cutest singing voice with all his school Christmas Carol and I was excited to see him sing for us at his daycare party. However; he decided that he did not feel like singing and held my leg while we watch his friends! Ha! He does not get his stage fright from his mom. Although the singing performance crashed, we had a blast with all his friends and ours too.

Christmas

Christmas Eve was of course oh so hectic but family time was great! We are all about tradition and do not like to break away from our "methods". We try oh so hard to save on gifts, money and shopping time by participating in "Dirty Santa" but it never fails that all by for all. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I can see that my boys love it also.
