Just sharing some things I found on the great web.... So sweet
First Day Of School~Author Unknown~
She started school this morning, And she seemed so very small. As I walked there beside herIn the Kindergarten hall. And as she took her place beside the others in the class, I realized how all too soon Those first few years can pass. Remembering, I saw her as She first learned how to walk. The words that we alone made out When she began to talk. This little girl so much absorbed In learning how to write. It seems as though she must have grownTo girlhood overnight. My eyes were blurred by hastilyI brushed the tears away Lest by some word or sign of mine I mar her first big day.
The Kissing Hand~A perfect first day story. This is a story about a little raccoon ready to start school. He talks about his fears to his mother, fears that most children have before beginning school. His mother comes up with a wonderful solution to help her little raccoon remember that she loves him and is thinking about him, even when she isn't with him. Gotta get this one....

Is summer really winding down?
I am missing summer already!!! We love to be on the beach or on Lake Martin. The serenity. The peace. The gorgeous views. Breath-taking sunsets. We typically visit Lake Martin with family and friends and have great memories! Perfect Stroms while riding in the boat, Party Floating at Chimney Rock and fishing with the boys. We only have a few weekends more before AU football takes over our weekends and I will miss the tranquility.
See party float above..

Awe: a feeling of amazement and respect
AAAAAAwe: a feeling of amazement and respect mixed with fear that is often coupled with a feeling …
I am in awe of those who are selfless and serve a greater purpose. This sure makes my job and life easier. For this, I am thankful!
I am a Foster Care Supervisor and see that foster parenting is filled with challenges and opportunities. It can be challenging to parent children with difficult histories. I see everyday that becoming a foster parent is an opportunity to care for children who benefit greatly from love and support.Foster parents change lives one child at a time. They believe in investing in the future of our children and AWE is the word I use to explain my daily experiences. Thanks to all the wonderful Foster Parents out there! LOL - D

Parents Day
Did you know that Parents Day is an American holiday celebrated on the fourth Sunday in July of each year. This year it is July 26. In order to support and to increase awareness of parental responsibilities as parents, teachers, mentors and guardians - we will celebrate Parents’ Day at Hickory Dickory Park on Monday July 27 at 5! I am so proud to be a parent and praise the efforts of all parents. I hope all of us can show appreciation for all parents, whether biological, adoptive, foster, or stepparents. This is a vital role in a child’s development and socialization.

A Special Sunday Afternoon!
US Space and "Rocket Ship" Center

We recently took a mini vacation before Kyle starts Pre K to the US Space and "Rocket Ship" Center in Huntsville. From the incredible artifacts of our nation's space program, to hands-on interactive exhibits and space travel simulators, the experience was amazing! We did have to press the "escape button" in the space travel simulator due to Kyle and my motion sickness! Ha! A little much. It was neat that Aldrin and crewmate Neil Armstrong members of the Apollo 11 crew, landed on the moon 40 years ago this month. Great education refresher for me!
